The Canterbury Tour Guide has proved so popular for MP3 players, that following customer requests we have developed an Android mobile phone app that is easy to download to your Android Handset.
MP3 Tour Guide
The mp3 based tour guide is great value at £2.99 and all you have to do is print out the PDF map and load up the MP3 files on your player, and start walking to any map point of your choice. Fully functional on any digital media player that will play MP3 files. The 22 audio tour files will take up around 17Mb of space on your device.
After you have downloaded the MP3 version of the Canterbury Tour Guide, you will find the zip file contains 22 MP3 tracks, numbered 01.mp3 through to 22.mp3. Copy these files to your MP3 player device. You will also find a colour map with numbered points of interest. These points of interest correspond with the MP3 tracks. We advise you print out the map before you go to Canterbury, then it will be a simple matter of selecting the mp3 track to match the points on the map you decide to visit.
Android Tour Guide
The Android version of the Canterbury Tour Guide is designed to be installed on Android based phones that posess a GPS, and can be used on devices with or without a touch screen.
Your location is displayed on a map, much like a car “sat-nav”. When you are within around 30 metres of a point of interest, the handset will vibrate, giving you the opportunity to then listen to the audio narrative about your particular location or read the written commentary in standard or large print.

No data connection needed
Once installed, unlike many other mobile phone and GPS based tour guides, you will not need to connect to the internet whilst using the guide, since our application contains all the maps and audio information you need, so you won’t have to worry about using your mobile data allowance to use this application. We recognise that mobile data and especially mobile data whilst roaming, can be very expensive, which can be a particular concern when visiting a foreign country.
